First principles

What each one actually does.

Surgery moves and removes tissue. A facelift repositions the deeper structures of the face and takes away excess skin. Blepharoplasty removes skin and fat from the eyelids. A neck lift does the same for the neck and, when needed, addresses the muscle underneath. That is why surgery produces the biggest change available, and why it involves incisions, anesthesia, an operating room, and real recovery.

Fibroblast plasma does one job: it tightens the skin you already have. A grid of controlled micro-points of plasma energy, placed just above the skin, makes the surface contract on the spot and prompts new collagen over the following months. Nothing is cut, nothing is removed, nothing is injected.

So the real question is never which one is better. It is which problem you actually have. Skin that has loosened is fibroblast territory. Tissue that has descended, fat that has shifted, muscle that bands: that is a surgeon's territory, and we will say so to your face.

When surgery is the right answer.

✦Significant excess skin — when there is simply more skin than any tightening can resolve.

✦True under-eye bags — fat that has moved forward is a surgical problem, not a skin problem.

✦Heavy jowling and descent — when the deeper structures of the face have shifted, repositioning them is the fix.

✦Muscle banding in the neck — vertical bands are muscle, and skin treatments do not switch muscle off.

One does not close the door on the other. Every fibroblast session at Awakened is performed by our founder, Rachel Levy, a certified national trainer who teaches this method to other providers. Candidacy is confirmed before anything is booked, including an honest skin-tone assessment, and including the honest answer when the right choice is a surgeon and not us.

Is fibroblast a facelift alternative?

For skin-level laxity, it is the strongest non-surgical option we offer. It is not a facelift and we will not pretend otherwise: surgery repositions and removes tissue, fibroblast tightens the skin you have. Which one your face calls for is what the consultation answers.

Why is fibroblast so much less expensive?

Because most of a surgical bill is not the surgeon. There is no operating room, no anesthesia team, and no facility fee in a fibroblast session. It is one practitioner, one device, and one planned appointment.

Does fibroblast make later surgery harder?

Bring that question to the consultation. If surgery is realistically in your future, we plan around that honestly, and your surgeon should always know your full treatment history.

Can I have fibroblast after surgery?

Sometimes, depending on what was done, when, and how the skin healed. It is assessed case by case at the consultation, never assumed.

How much does fibroblast cost?

It is quoted at a complimentary consultation after a candidacy and area assessment, because pricing depends on which areas are treated. Payment plans are available through Cherry and Affirm.
